Ezulwini: Domestic tourism Pioneer Thabile Maripe who is the founder of Vakasha Eswatini, a Facebook Group whose main objective is to promote and showcase the beauty of the Kingdom of Eswatini has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Ministry of Tourism.
Maripe was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation by the Minister of Tourism during the official launch of the Festive Season Campaign at the Mantenga Lodge in Ezulwini on Friday, November 13, 2020.
Handing over the Certificate of Appreciation, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism John Hlophe on behalf of the Minister of Tourism said Thabile Maripe is being honored for her contribution to domestic tourism through the creation of the Vakasha Eswatini Facebook page which promotes domestic tourism and has grown to over 54 000 members. Hlophe said Eswatini needs more trailblazers and self-starters like Ms. Maripe.

Thabile Mariphe created a Facebook Group Vakasha Eswatini which has amassed over 54 000 members in just over 5 months.
The group’s main objective is to promote local tourism by sharing peoples personal travel experiences, showcasing places and spaces that make the Kingdom of Eswatini beautiful.
According to information sourced from the group things to share could be Getaways, adventures, eateries, fun spots, scenery and everything in-between. “All the best kept secrets and whatever makes you tick about this colorful Kingdom”.
People are also allowed to share general travel advice, tips and recommendations, images and exact location of the places they have visited so that others can appreciate and explore.
