Gavin Hunt is Kaizer Chiefs new head coach

Kaizer Chiefs have secured the signature of four-time league winner Gavin Hunt as the successor to Ernst Middendorp.

Kaizer Chiefs have secured the signature of four-time league winner Gavin Hunt as the successor to Ernst Middendorp.

The former Bidvest Wits manager has finally agreed terms with the Soweto giants ahead of the 2020/21 season, with an official announcement expected from the club this afternoon.

KickOff.com understands from an insider close to the move that a deal has been signed after Hunt’s representatives met with the club’s hierarchy to finalise the terms of his contract.

Chiefs have been chasing their new head coach since the sacking of the German tactician last week with frontrunner Hunt, Adel Amerouche and Stuart Baxter all understood to have been contacted for the role.

The move marks Hunt’s seventh club since his first managerial role with Seven Stars back in 1995 and with eight major titles won during his 25-year coaching career, silverware will be expected to follow for Amakhosi as he makes the move to Naturena.
