Mbabane: Capital city heavyweights Mbabane Highlanders are on a mission.
The record 13 league winners on Thursday tied combative midfielder Colani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze to a two-year deal, a day after presenting quicksilver striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa. The club also announced Siyabonga Bhembe as the new assistant coach and trainer.
Highlanders’ PLE Board of Governor representative Benson Dlamini confirmed the news.
“Just like Sikhali, Papi joins on a two-year contract,” he said.
Papi and Bhembe were unveiled by Highlanders boss Ally Kgomongwe at the club offices inside the capital city.
Formerly with Mbabane Swallows, Bhembe spent the last over a year with South Africa’s Mbombela United. Actually, Bhembe started his coaching career with now defunct Red Lions before enjoying a trophy laden stint with Swallows, first under Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe and Mpendulo Ngwenya, later under the late Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati.
‘Papi’ joins from Mozambique’s Ferreviaro de Maputo and proves to be an excellent signing for the ‘Bull’.
Sikhondze, Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze’s older brother makes a return to Highlanders after a season stint in 2014/15. The midfielder burst to the limelight with Manzini Wanderers and has also played for Swallows
