Lobamba – Sitsebe SaMhkekazi will welcome Burkina Faso at the Somhlolo National Stadium next Wednesday September 20, and entry will be free.
The two nations will face-off in the preliminary round first leg of the Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024 qualifiers in a 3pm kick-off.
According to Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe, the country will be able to host this match on home soil since it was not a Category A fixture.
Category A games according to CAF standards include senior men AFCON qualifiers and CAF inter-club competitions.
Zambia and South Africa are the two teams exempted from the preliminary round as the two highest finishers at the last tournament. Morocco has automatically qualified as host.
Sitsebe will face South Africa’s Banyana Banyana if they overcome Burkina Faso in the next round.
Eleven-time African champions Nigeria will face Sao Tome and Principe in some of the interesting pairings.
