Mbabane – After a long and sometimes impatient wait, the MTN Premier League 2023/2024 season will finally kick-off this weekend.
Defending champions Green Mamba will face-off with last campaign’s runners-up Young Buffaloes in a mouth-watering opener scheduled for Ka-Langa Stadium on Saturday September 16. After an early elimination in their TotalEnergies CAF Champions League quest, Green Mamba looked unstoppable in the recently ended PLE Trade Fair Cup where they flummoxed a visibly fatigued Mbabane Swallows 6-0 in the finals.
Swallows will visit premier league returnees Rangers at the King Sobhuza II Stadium in a double header to involve Nsingizini Hotspurs against Manzini Wanderers in the opening match.
Newcomers Illovo from Big Bend will be home away from home when they take the short trip to clash with Denver Sundowns at the Mayaluka Stadium. The rest of the week one MTN Premier League matches which start on Friday until Sunday September 17 were confirmed by the PLE Football Manager Petros Vilakati in a statement.
