Mbabane: The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has yet again postponed the MTN League resumption.
The Chairman of the (PLE) Mark Carmichael has announced the postponement of the eagerly awaited resumption of the 2021/2022 season. According to the Chairman of the (PLE) the postponement of the League is because of the ongoing political crises in the county.
Some clubs’ preparations for the new season were being stopped by the unavailability of transport since last week Thursday.”The situation is out of control and out of our hands as an organization, it is difficult to even put a date when exactly the league can start.
“The decision for the postponement is mainly for the safety of our members. Now we will wait for the situation to be conducive for our members then we will then start the 2021/2022 MTN Premium League,” said the Chairman.
Carmichael further advised all stakeholders and teams to continue participating in the vaccination campaign. He also encouraged clubs to also continue with their preparations in a safe way. It is not the first time the (PLE) postponed the MTN kick-off, the initial start of the season was October 8 as the (PLE) wanted to vaccinate all the players and officials before it was postponed again now due to the unrest which is going on in the county.
