Mbabane: The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) vaccination campaign drive will this week Saturday move to the Lubombo region.
This was revealed by PLE Executive committee member Charles Matsebula who stated that the next roadshow will be held on Saturday in the Lubombo region in a town yet to be confirmed by the region authorities ”we want to reach every corner of the country” said Matsebula. Ministry of Health Simon Lukhele said the activation is helping because more Emaswati are responding to the campaign and are taking the jab.
Simon was educating the public on the importance of the vaccine and also correcting any misconceptions around the COVID-19 vaccine. “Ours is to encourage people to vaccinate so that life can return to normal. As a ministry, we are happy to work with football people because football people responded to the call of vaccinating in terms of numbers”. Lukhele said. The 2021/2022 season is expected to begin before the end of the month.
PLE Executive member Charles Matsebula said there was a great chance that vaccinated fans will get a chance to watch the beautiful game at some point this season. About 1300 fans have been vaccinated ever since the campaign started. The campaign started two weeks ago it was first in the Manzini region and then the Shiselweni region and the previous weekend, it was in the Hhohho region at Buhleni.
