Mbabane: The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) is going to hire a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who is going to replace its former CEO Simanga Nhleko.
The chairman of the organization Mark Carmichael revealed this during the organization’s special meeting which was held at Sigwaca House in Mbabane. The chairman said that the hiring of the CEO was their top priorities among other things.
The post of the CEO was left vacant after the PLE terminate the contract of the former CEO Simanga Nhleko. The former CEO then decided to take the organization to court for unfair dismissal. Nhleko successfully won the matter where the PLE was ordered to pay him an amount of E672 000 for breach of contract. The organization has so far managed to pay Nhleko an amount of E452 3551, and the PLE is yet to pay their former CEO the remaining E219 648.
The PLE arranged with Nhleko to pay him a monthly installment of E30 000. ”The PLE executive committee has agreed that the hiring of the new CEO must be given the urgency it deserves. We will soon be advertising the post and believing that we will be having the right candidates as quickly as possible because the hiring of a CEO is in our budget for the new season” said the Chairman of the Premier League of Eswatini.
