Mbabane: The starting date of the MTN Premier League season will be revealed this Saturday during a special meeting of the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) at Sigwaca House.
Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Operations Officer (COO) Pat Vilakati confirmed these developments. He further revealed that the (PLE) financial report for the year ended will also be presented by their auditors.
The adoption of the financials was deferred during the PLE’s recent annual general meeting (AGM) held at the Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini at the request of the members as they wanted more time to check the numbers on the financial.
“Yes, I can confirm that on Saturday we will be having a special meeting at Sigwaca House where issues that were not concluded during our AGM will be finalized. Among those pending issues is that of the financials which must be adopted. We will then also be informing teams about the start of the new season as we are currently finalizing some logistics with the sponsor (MTN).”
Clubs will definitely know on Saturday when they can start pre-season training and the actual kick-off dates of the new season.” Said Vilakati.
The PLE COO further asserted that the Awards committee led by Musa Masuku has submitted the final selection of individual awards recipients for last season’s MTN Premier League and the National First Division League.
“We have names of individual winners for the 2020/2021 season as the awards committee has submitted the list to us, but we have not sent them to the sponsor as we are sorting out some logistics. We hope we will be in the position to know by Saturday when the prizes for the recently ended season winners would be awarded “said Vilakati.
