Mbabane: Young Buffaloes finally arrive in Tunisia for their second leg play offs against Etoil Du Sahel in the CAF Confederation Cup.
This comes after the Army side was turned back on Friday at Oliver Tambour International airport. The game was initially scheduled for Sunday afternoon, but it was postponed to today February 23, 2021 as the army side struggle to find its way to Tunisia from Thursday, twice turned back home from the Oliver Tambour International airport, South Africa.
The army side had to spend 18 hours in flight from Oliver Tambour International, South Africa to Qatar before they connect a flight to Tunisia. Their match will now kick off at 5pm local time at the Taib E1 Mehairi Stadium in Sfax.
Buffaloes will now have at least 24hrs of rest before the macth. It is alleged that buffaloes were not in possession of an authorization letter from the Tunisian Government which permits them to enter Tunisia as it is in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Army side journey started on Thursday and they finally make it through on Monday afternoon after the failed attempt on Friday and Surtuday.the Army side have to revese the 2-1 score which they suffered in the first leg in the home soil on Valentine’s Day at Mavuso Sports Centre.
