Mbabane: Thursday night 0-2 defeat away in Brazzaville has left Sihlangu qualification chances for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations hanging by a thread.
Head Coach Dominic Kunene admitted mistakes committed in the loss that left Sihlangu rooted at the bottom of Group I standings with no points which will be rectified in the return leg on Monday. Sihlangu host the same Congo Brazzaville at Mavuso Sports Centre in a 3pm kick-off for the fourth game of the pool.
“The players did well and as the technical team we are happy with the performance. It was just those few mistakes towards the end of the game which we will rectify in the home match,” Kunene said from the squad hotel in Brazzaville.
Sihlangu finished the game with 10 men after defensive midfielder Siboniso ‘Gaxa’ Ngwenya was sent off in what was visibly panic from the local lads after conceding two goals in a space if three minutes with 12 minutes remaining on the clock.
Prince Ibra broke the deadlock in the 78th minute before Junior Makiesse finished the game as a contest in the 81st.
