Mbabane: Young Buffaloes will face Le Messager of Burundi in the preliminary round of the Total CAF Champions League.
As reported by Independent News Eswatini, the Football Association have confirmed Eswatini’s participation in the continent’s inter-club tournaments but were undecided on the clubs to represent the country following a Covid-19 hit season which saw the season cancelled.
However, army side Buffaloes have been confirmed for the CAF Champions League while the Total CAF Confederation Cup representative is unknown following results of the draw conducted in Cairo, Egypt on Monday.
The country’s CAF Confederations Cup representative will face Angolan side GDSE. The preliminary round matches will be played between 27-29 November, 2020 with return matches on 4-6 December, 2020.
If Buffaloes beat Le Messager in the preliminary round, they will face DRC giants AS Vita Club next.
Le Messager is a Burundian football club based in Ngozi. Founded only in 2005, Le Messager play its matches at the 5 400 capacity Urunkundo Stadium.
Eswatini’s Total CAF Confederation Cup representative will face South Africa’s Orlando Pirates if they beat Angolan side GDSE in the preliminary round.
