Mbabane: Barely a week after rejoining Mbabane Swallows as an assistant coach and trainer, Siyabonga Bhembe has resigned with immediate effect.
As a result, the capital city giants have announced they will be taking legal action against Bhembe who has just signed a contract with them. Bhembe, who spent the last two seasons with relegated South Africa’s Glad Africa Championship side Mbombela United returned to the country to rejoin Swallows last week only to resign with immediate effect on Tuesday, October 20.
In a statement, team Marketing and Communications Manager Mancoba Mabuza confirmed that this morning (Tuesday) the team received a letter of resignation from Siyabonga Bhembe. “Bhembe had recently been unveiled as an Assistant Coach/Trainer for the Club. The team had a valid contract with Mr. Bhembe and the team is taking legal advice on the matter of his resignation.
As a matter of principle and policy, Mbabane Swallows FC does not stand on the way of officials or players who decide to ply their trade elsewhere.
Mbabane Swallows FC wishes Siyabonga well in his future endeavours. The Club will be making announcements regarding the recruitment of players and officials and will continue to advise its fans on future developments,” he said.
Unconfirmed reports suggest Bhembe is on the verge of joining Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa at bitter-sworn rivals Mbabane Highlanders.
