Mbabane: With the 2019/2020 season officially over, an impressive 302 goals were scored in 126 MTN Premier League matches.
With strict government Covid-19 regulations measures not allowing football activity among other sports classified as high risk, the Eswatini Football Association declared the past season over on August 20, 2020. Of the 302 goals scored by the time the league was halted on March 13, champions Young Buffaloes had contributed 15.2 per cent of the goals at 46.

Averagely, 2.4 goals were scored per game in the past season. Mercurial Buffaloes attacking midfielder Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze was the league top scorer with 17 goals.
Mbabane Swallows had the best defence, conceding just 0.03 per cent of all the goals conceded in the league.
Mbabane Highlanders had the least number of goals with just 12, which is equivalent to 0.04 per cent.
Out of the 302 goals, five were own goals. Interestingly, two of the five own goals were scored by Manzini Wanderers. Full back Menzi Gamedze in a 0-2 defeat against Mhlume Peacemakers and centre back Sihle Mkhonta in a 2-all draw against Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows both beat their own goalkeeper.
Actually the 2-all draw against Black Swallows had two own goals as Nathi Shongwe of the Malandalahle-based side also beat his own goalkeeper.
The other two own goals were from Denver Sundowns’ Makhosi Mtsetfwa in a 0-4 bashing by Green Mamba and Tambuti’s Sisekelo Matsenjwa in a 2-all draw against Denver.
