Ezulwini: The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) splashed E26 000 cash during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held on Saturday, September 13 at Ezulwini Happy Valley Hotel on its Board of Governors.
The PLE has 26 BoGs in total with each governor receiving E500 after the meeting .The executive had invited two representatives from each team to attend the (AGM) which then brings the number to 52 people who received the cash as transport fee for coming to the meeting. The cash was splashed to the governors in envelopes and it was gathered that the cash was solely for transport.
PLE Chief Operational Officer Pat Vilakati said there was nothing sinister behind the cash as it was only an incentive from the association. These year (AGM) will also see the election of a new Chairman and executive committee to lead the organization for the next four years as the Peter “Touch” Magagula led committee is in its final year in office.
There are three candidates who are running for the Chairmanships including the outgoing Chairman Peter “Touch” Magagula and two executive members in Mark Carmichael and Sicelo Mkhonta. There will also be a battle for the slot for executive committee which is among others are Pigg’s-Peak Black Swallows Chairman Charles Matsebula, Sipho “Tsetla” Bhembe of Vovovo FC and Victor Rodriguez to name but only a few.
