According to Article 37 (6) of the PLE Constitution, “For a candidate to be eligible to stand for the position of chairman of the PLE, in addition to conforming to the requirements as stipulated in this Constitution, shall have been a member of the PLE Board of Governors for at least four years”.
All three candidates, Magagula, Carmichael and Mkhonta have been members in the BoGs structure for the stipulated four years and have all accepted to stand for the elections following their nomination.
There are four more executive members to be voted for and candidates include Sipho ‘Tsetla’ Bhembe and Charles Matsebula among others. Two more executive members with special skills will be added to the executive arm to complete the seven-men team.
