Mbabane: The death of former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) John Mazibuko have hit hard on PLE . The organisation said their ex-administrator Mazibuko was a great assets to football. This was said by Chairman Peter ‘Touch’ Magagula during Mazibuko’s funeral which was held at Engwenyameni, Luyengo on Sunday 16, 2020.
The PLE Chairman said “Mazibuko was having the office at his heart and he help us a in a lot of things during his time as a CEO. We also asked him to help us after his retirement at the Central Bank of Eswatini. During that time he brought stability into the office and he was always willing to help and also give advice whenever needed even when he have left the office of the PLE. We will always value his contribution to local football executive member Sicelo Mkhonta, said “Mazibuko contributed to the transformation of the organisation. We have lost a hardworking person who always put development of football first. He also contributed immensely in the formation of Ingwenyama Cup together with the management committee was the one who came up with the idea of mixing football with culture.”
Mazibuko worked for PLE between 2014 and 2017 during the leadership of the late Chairman Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze.
About 100 mourners paid last respect to Mazibuko who died after suffering from a COVID-19 related illness last Wednesday. The mourners further adhered to the health guidelines by keeping social distance and sanitised themselves under the presence of police who were there to ensure that the regulations were followed.
