Mbabane: Pigg’s Black Swallows Chairman Charles Matsebula, Steven Horton and Bongani “Under Control” Mamba have been disqualified for the Premier League chairmanship position. This transpired yesterday evening at Sigwaca House.
According to reliable sources within the (PLE) executive the trio does not meet the requirement needed. Now the race is between three people which are Sicelo Mkhonta, Mark Carmichael and the current (PLE) Chairman Peter “Touch”Magagula.
The source said what was confusing and viewed as the highest corruption at its best was that Matsebula was disqualified based on the minutes of the (AGM) of 2016. What confused the other members was that the resolution is not in the constitution.
It also caused a debate because the Chairman failed to produce the minutes when some executive members requested that the minutes must be read in yesterday meeting. Even when the organisation COO was asked to read a sentence on that minutes by some executive members but the chairman blocked and said the was no time for that and told the executive that whosoever is aggrieved must raise his concern and they will deal with it in the near future.
The members come out of the meeting fuming about the decision. Magagula also said that Matsebula does not even qualify for being a member of the executive committee. Even on that aspect he was reluctant to show course why Matsebula does not qualify to be in the executive.
Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) COO Pat Vilakati confirmed the list of the qualifying candidates. ”As (PLE) we have done the shortlisting of candidates for the position of the chairmanship and executive members. And these who were disqualified does not meet the requirements.to qualify one need to serve in the (BoG) and be an executive member for a period of four years. The resolution was taken during last year election” he said.
