Mbabane: As light showers swept pass Mbabane in this ice cold weather, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) rained E2 275 000 to its eight members to mitigate the effects of the Covid-19 threat.

Announcing the financial relief for its members was EFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu this afternoon, June 17 at Sigwaca House. Mngomezulu said after the EFA executive analyzed its financial capacities in careful consideration of its continuance to assure the survival of the association and inherent pertinent football business prospectively, it (executive) decided to allocate the amount of E2 275 000 to the members to mitigate the effects that have come with the novel coronavirus.
Despite the immediate disbursement of these funds, worth noting is that EFA is still waiting for FIFA’s Covid-19 Relief Fund announced by the world football governing body president Gianni Infantino worth over E9 million.
“This particular money comes from EFA coffers,” Mngomezulu highlighted as he added that member associations will receive financial governance regulations on how the funds will be utilized.
