Mbabane: The Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs has receive a letter from the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) for a special meeting of the Premier League of Eswatini Board of Governors.
These comes after 18 Premier League clubs sign a petition where they were asking for a special meeting, when in fact government have restricted every gathering to not more than 20 people at a time . While the PLE have 26 affiliates, excluding secretaries.
The executive assigned COO to write a letter to government through the relevant bodies to request for the clubs to meet urgently. The chairman had said prior that only 20 members would be allowed into the meeting and the executive committee refused that and decided to ask the COO to get the permission from government .
When contacted by this publication Sibongiseni Zondi who is the Communication Officer in the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs confirm that they have received the letter as the ministry. While the Eswatini PLE Chairperson Peter Touch Magagula said the agenda have been accepted and the concerns which were forwarded by the clubs would be addressed.
