Mbabane: The Premier League of Eswatini will meet with the Eswatini Telecom Charity Cup organizing committee to deliberate on the annual tournament which is supposed to start next month.
During a press conference yesterday (21/05/2020) at Sigwaca house, the PLE Chairman Peter ‘Touch’ Magagula said he is not sure whether the competition will take place or not given the situation of the outbreak of the CORONAVIRUS Pandemic.
“As the PLE we are fully aware that the EPTC Charity Cup is supposed to get started around June or July for its charity work and preliminary stages,” he said.
Magagula added that they are going to meet with the organizers to map a way forward and then after that call a press conference to issue a statement pertaining the tournament.
Capital City giants Mbabane Highlanders are the defending champions after beating Manzini Wanderes 3-1 in the final last year and take home a rich cheque of 1.1 million.
Soccer lovers will have to wait a little bit while keeping their fingers crossed for the outcome of the results of the meeting.
