MBABANE: Staunch Manzini Wanderers supporter, Sidumo Ngwenya, has resigned from the team’s National Supporters’ Committee (NSC). Ngwenya had been appointed to the position by the Weslians supporters whose chairman is Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza at an event held at Manzini Library last year.
Ngwenya tendered his resignation letter some months ago for fear of breach of the team’s code of conduct. “He politely asked to resign as a member of the NSC and he was duly granted his wish”, confided a source.
When Ngwenya was drawn for comment he confirmed his resignation saying he is naturally a playful and happy-go-lucky person which goes against the ethics of the team’s code of conduct.
“I am a playful person, a virtue which seems to contravene the team’s regulations and work ethics which require a serious and professional person,” said Ngwenya, adding that this was the reason he decided to resign from the position.
Ngwenya maintained that he still a Wanderers’ person and he will die like that. When drawn for comment, the NSC chairman confirmed that Ngwenya has resigned from the team’s NSC but appreciated that he was still the team’s follower. Ginindza appealed to the team’s supporters to continue depositing funds to their Mobile Money accounts so that the team will survive even during this time of COVID-19 pandemic. He reminded supporters to purchase the team’s masks which cost E50 emalangeni each .The Mobile Money number is 76180066.
