Mbabane- The EFA Disciplinary Committee led by Thulani Sibandze dismissed Manzini Wanderers protest case against Denver Sundowns late on Monday evening.
The reasons for dismissal will be contained in the written verdict to be furnished to all parties within 24 hours. Effectively, the ruling means Wanderers have lost their case and are now relegated to the lower National First Division.
The maroon and white giants had protested against three Sundowns foreign players, specifically captain Jimoh Moses, alleging that they were without work permits during the day of the match.
Wanderers had hoped to win the protest to dodge the relegation axe, moving above Moneni Pirates in the MTN Premier League standings.
However, after receiving the written verdict, Wanderers can still appeal the decision by the EFA DC.
The marathon protest case saw not less than three postponements and at one time, an officer from the Immigration Department in the Ministry of Home Affairs was called to testify the veracity of some documents presented before the DC
