Mbabane: The Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala has today handed over a 4-tonne truck worth over E928 000 to Sicaca investments from Mkhiweni Inkhundla in the Manzini Region.
The truck has been funded through the Regional Development Fund. Sicaca Investment is a community business comprising 21 emaSwati who plan to lease out the truck and take advantage of the sugarcane industry. The community contributed about E112 000 towards the project, both in cash and in-kind.
Making his remarks at the event, minister Ngcamphalala said, “His Majesty’s Government has always looked up to the Regional Development Fund as an appropriate vehicle with which to improve the lives of the people at the grassroots level.”
He continued, “The fact that this is the 13th RDF funded project in this constituency since 2015 demonstrates the ability of the Tinkhundla System of Government in shaping the level of the lives of emaSwati. We are proud to note that this lnkhundla has utilized approximately E3.9 Million during that period.”
Yaya Sifundza, Chairperson of Sicaca Investment said, “We thank the Government of Eswatini for this truck which we believe will improve our lives. We promise to take good care of it so that it can last longer.”
