Sithobela: A E6 million Mhlathuzane bridge connecting the Sithobela and Khubuta Tinkhundla has been completed. The project which was financed by the Micro project financiers will change the landscape of the area.
The new bridge was designed and constructed by Inyatsi Construction Company and it has taken five months to complete as it began in April. It is an infrastructure development that will transform the lives of the community.
Sithobela MP Bhekitje Dlamini said in the past high rainfall would lead to floods and the community would be forced to use alternatives to reach their destinations. He thanked the government for the bridge.
“The bridge will improve efficiency in transportation between the two constituencies, namely the Khubutha and Sithobela Inkhundlas. It gives the community members on both sides of the river access to schools, shops, and clinics. We are thankful to Microproject and are hopeful that government will pump more money to the organization as it provides development projects.”
The MP further revealed that a community hall worth E1.3 Million at Luhlanyeni Umphakatsi has also been completed. The hall was financed by the Rural Development Fund. “More community halls are yet to be constructed in the various Imiphakatsi. This, therefore, means that having meetings under trees will soon be a thing of the past.”
