Mbabane: The Mantabeni community outside Mbabane is in a state of shock after the body of a man in his thirties was found decapitated and cooked in a hut at a nearby homestead.
According to a member of the community police in the area, Themba Dlamini, the homestead in which this gruesome discovery was made is situated at a distance from most of the homes in the neighborhood. Dlamini said on Monday, some children were playing with their dog close to the homestead in question when they noticed the dog entering the hut. The children are said to have followed the dog only to find themselves in sight of the body.
Dlamini said ‘’the body had its stomach ripped out and the children were so shocked that they ran home to their mother to report the incident. In disbelief, the mother went to investigate but upon reaching the homestead was turned away by one of the residents who happens to be the brother of the deceased man.”
The children’s mother is said to have been suspicious and called members of the community who in turn informed the police. Meanwhile, the brother made an attempt to stuff parts of the body into a bag in an effort to conceal them from the community who were now closing in on the homestead.
The police forensic department quickly arrived on the scene to find a gruesome scene of a dead man with his stomach entrails hanging out. The body had been chopped up and parts of it were burnt suggesting that the body parts had been cooked.
Dlamini says “one could tell that the person had been killed for some time because of the smell that emanated from the hut. The children who discovered the body have now been sent for counseling as they are now refusing to eat.”
The police spokesperson Phindile Vilakati confirmed the incident and that the suspect has been arrested for further investigation.
