Mbabane: The Kingdom of Eswatini continues to experience an increasing number of COVID-19 cases as 162 new cases were recorded on Monday with 108 patients admitted.
This is contained in the daily reports issued by the Ministry of Health. The reports indicate that 1005 tests were received, of them 162 cases were confirmed. It states that of the 162 cases 10 were asymptomatic, 142 were mild, 8 were moderate and 2 were severe cases.
The daily reports also indicate that 3 deaths were recorded, of them, two were females and one male.
According to the daily reports by the ministry, the total number of confirmed cases as of July 12, 2021, stands at 20 080, and recoveries recorded stand at 18 495.
Notably, figures show that the Manzini region has the highest number of infections at 8 020, followed by the Hhohho at 7943, the Lubombo region at 2369, and the Shiselweni region at 1744.
As of July 13, 2021, there were 188,088,320 cases reported globally with 4,055,969 fatalities and 172,025,727 recoveries.
The ministry of health has earlier warned that there was a notable increase in the daily number of cases hence a third wave was expected, and she urged the public to adhere to all regulations to prevent a possible spread of the virus. The government has since implemented a curfew which prohibits movement from 6 pm until 5 am
The Ministry continues to urge the public to continue adhering to all health measures given by the ministry of health and the World Health Organization which includes washing hands with running water and soap, avoid unnecessary movements, practice social distancing.
