Mbabane: The total number of confirmed daily cases in Eswatini has almost doubled from 23 on Tuesday to 44 on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
In the daily reports issued by the Ministry of Health, the number of confirmed cases in the country has gone up to 18 898, as of June 23, 2021.
The reports show that the ministry received a total of 789 test results of which 44 came out positive. This is the highest number to be recorded daily in the Kingdom over the last 30 days.
According to the daily reports by the Ministry, the total recoveries recorded stand at 18 050.
Notably, figures show that since the pandemic the Hhohho region has the highest number of infections at 7603, Manzini at 7520 followed by the Lubombo region at 2066, and the Shiselweni region at 1624.
As of June 24, 2021 there were 180,405,787 cases reported globally with 3,908,500 fatalities and 165,124,317 recoveries.
The minister of health has earlier warned that there was a notable increase in the daily number of cases hence a third wave was expected, and she urged the public to adhere to all regulations to prevent a possible spread of the virus.
The Ministry continues to urge the public to continue adhering to all health measures given by the ministry of health and the World Health Organization which includes washing hands with running water and soap, avoid unnecessary movements, practice social distancing.
