Ezulwini: Eswatini Mobile has committed to provide up to 6 000 Xiaomi 9C smartphones for SNAT members over the next 3 months.
Eswatini Mobile Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jeff Penberton says Eswatini Mobile will be making it easy for Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) members to sign up and enjoy this initiative via a dedicated SNAT page on Eswatini Mobile website accessible 24 / 7 from anywhere.
This new connectivity initiative comes after Eswatini Mobile renewed their partnership with Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) which seek to meet teachers with all their communication needs (for work, social and entertainment).
This new connectivity initiative will benefit teachers countrywide as it will see them getting access to this new affordable smartphones and unlimited data.
The launch of this new connectivity initiative took place at the Happy Valley hotel on Wednesday and it marked the renewal of the partnership between Eswatini Mobile and SNAT which started in 2018.
In 2018, Eswatini Mobile and SNAT started a partnership that enjoyed considerable success, attracting, over 3 500 SNAT members to sign up for SNAT Mobile to meet their communication needs.
Making his remarks, Eswatini Mobile Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said whilst the partnership was successful, there were challenges notably; Limited network coverage, Smartphone shortages and distance to outlets.
However, the CEO said Eswatini Mobile and SNAT have worked hard to overcome the challenges and they were ready to build on their partnership’s success.
Penberton said Eswatini Mobile is committed in extending their network coverage and capacity by adding 86 new base stations to the network. He said 50 new base stations will be installed in April and 36 additional new base stations in May.
He added that Eswatini Mobile will deliver world class support through a dedicated SNAT members help desk at Mbabane Corporate Place Experience Centre.
“I am confident that our partnership with SNAT will continue, grow and deliver connectivity offerings that exceed the expectations of SNAT Members,” said the CEO.
SNAT President Mbongwa Dlamini appreciated Eswatini Mobile for coming through for the teachers more especially during this COVID-19 where teaching is conducted online. He said the e-learning that is being promoted of late requires smartphones and adequate network coverage. Dlamini asked Eswatini Mobile to continue improving their network coverage as they had promised.
He asked the telecommunications service provider to improve their network coverage more especially for the schools in the remote areas as those schools are often left behind in terms of technological advances.
He said their partnership with Eswatini Mobile will benefit almost every Liswati as it will make it easier for teachers to communicate with pupils and as well as parents.
On a lighter note he lauded Eswatini Mobile for providing affordable products that even an ordinary Liswati can access.
