Mbabane: Above saving the King’s, the Republic of China in Taiwan has further extended a helping hand to the Kingdom of Eswatini by donating hand sanitizers worth E245 000 and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) valued at E290 000.
The sanitizers will be distributed to 5 000 Community Health Volunteers while the PPE will be given to health personnel.
When receiving the donation, Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi said this kind gesture addresses the real need of providing the Community Health Volunteers with applicable supplies to support their routine community based health services while responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and also ensuring that the country sustain essential primary health care services like Maternal and Child health even during such difficult times.”

Taiwan Ambassador Jeremy Liang said the worldwide spread of COVID-19 has shown that disease knows no borders and that no gaps should exist in the global epidemic prevention network.
Liang added therefore, as long as the global pandemic does not slow down, Taiwan will continue to contribute to the Kingdom and the world to face the threat coming from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, in the past couple of days Eswatini head of State His Majesty King Mswati III touted a drug from Taiwan which he said saved his life. The King thanked the Taiwanese President for sending the medication and said the government would immediately procure it for the rest of the nation.
