Lobamba: His Majesty King Mswati III has arrived in parliament for the opening of the third session of the 11th parliament.
The King arrived at around 11 am with his usual escorts and on arrival was welcomed by the senate president Lindiwe Dlamini, the honorable speaker of the house of assembly, the acting Prime Minister Themba Masuku, Clerk to Parliament, Army Commander, and National Commissioner of police as well as the Commissioner General for the Correctional Services.
He began by inspecting the guard of honor before proceeding inside parliament where he is expected to deliver his speech from the throne.
His arrival was much expected after so many moths of disappearance in public. The king was last seen in public during the Incwala ceremony where he was partaking in the ceremony.
The king last spoke to the nation in May 2020 where he addressed the nation on the state of cvid-19. Since then the king has never been seen in public addressing the nation
His appearance in parliament today the King is expected to address the nation and deliver his speech from the throne giving direction to the nation.
The opening of the parliament signals the begging of the work of legislators to move the country forward to attain its first world status which has been projected by the king to be attained by 2022.
Parliament and government is expected to work around the clock as only ten months left to reaching 2022 which is a target for the nation to have attained the first world status.
