Mbabane: Yet again, the Industrial Court could not arrive at the conclusion of the matter involving the reopening of schools between the Eswatini National Schools Association (SNAT) and government. The judgement has now been postponed three times after it was first expected on July 3. It was postponed to July 10 but could not be delivered due to electricity blackout at the industrial court. It was then moved to today, July 13 and finally to July 14.
Industrial Court Judge Dumisani Mazibuko said they needed time to do their research and adjourned the proceedings to tomorrow. Today saw submissions from both the teachers’ association and government, with the latter suggesting that the matter be dismissed from the industrial court and taken to the labour commissioner. However, Industrial Court Judge Dumisani Mazibuko opted against the dismissal citing previous similar cases which were brought and sorted out at the industrial court.
Judgement is reserved for tomorrow, (Tuesday July 14).
