Mbabane: The Kirsh Foundation haspledged another major donation to government to spend in the fight against Covid-19.
The Kirsh Foundation Representative George Lys revealed that the foundation has dedicated another E80 million to be handed over to Government of Eswatini.
In May, the foundation presented E45 million to government, which was meant to benefit Emaswati who are currently facing food insecurity due to the outbreak of coronavirus. During that press conference, Lys was quoted as saying the E45 million was for food relief to needy people in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Lys revealed this fantastic news of the new donation during a presentation of medical aid to the Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini from the Republic of Taiwan on Thursday afternoon. The aid includes ventilators, bedside monitors and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Worth noting, the transportation of the consignment has been made possible through support from the Natie Kirsh Foundation.
Prime Minister said the country continue to draw strength and courage from friends and partners of the country like Taiwan for their continuous support to the various developmental programmes of the Kingdom.
“May I pass our gratitude to the Government and people of Taiwan. I can give the assurance that these supplies will be utilized effectively to save lives.” Dlamini said.
Taiwan Ambassador Jeremy Liang said his country is grateful to handover this consignment which shows the bonds of friendship between our two countries. This is a testament of solidarity. “In this fight against #COVID19, there is no room for complacency. We cannot let our guard down.” Liang said.
