Mbabane: Minister of Public Service Christian Ntjangase has passed on due to COVID-19 related illness.
Sources close to the matter confirmed the Minister’s demise, saying Ntjangase passed on while he was still under treatment, being admitted at Lubombo Referral Hospital.
Efforts to reach his brother Mzuthini Ntjangase who is the former Commissioner General for His Majesty’s Correctional Service (HMCS) proved unsuccessful as his cellphone was off by time of compiling this report.
Minister Ntjangase was elected the Member of Parliament for Shiselweni I in 2018 and was subsequently appointed by his Majesty the King to be the Minister for Public Service.
Ntjangase is the first Minister to die of COVID-19 following the death of the head of Government Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini who passed on in December 2020.
