Lobamba: National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) Chief Executive Officer Mmemo Russell Dlamini has been appointed the new Prime Minister of the kingdom by His Majesty King Mswati III.
Dlamini replaces Cleopas Sipho Dlamini as head of government. The king made the announcement on Wednesday at exactly 5.20pm much to the jubilation of the throngs that attended Sibaya. The former PM was previously the CEO of the Public Service Pension Fund.
The king said he hopes Dlamini will do away with the disasters as said by the nation in the week-long Sibaya.
As read out at Sibaya by the Nation’s Secretary Nhlanhl Dlamini, His Majesty King Mswati III has said the Sibaya submissions will now serve as a policy guideline.
He emphasised on the decentralisation of services and that these structures must work well together like a well-oiled machine. He said Tinkhundla Centres must be of good standards to accommodate government services.
“This policy must be taught countrywide and put in curriculums, especially in educating about the Tinkhundla system of governance. As per the country’s laws, Members of Parliament, Tindvuna Tenkhundla and Bucopho should meet with the people at the constituencies for better progress in the country’s issues,” he said.
