Mbabane: Shiselweni Regional Administrator and former acting Prime Minister Dr. Vincent Mhlanga has passed on, allegedly died of COVID-19.
Mhlanga once acted as the Prime Minister of Eswatini after the death of the late Prime Minister Dr. Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini in 2018. This was during the time the previous cabinet had been disbanded ahead of 2018 elections.
Mhlanga held the realms of the Head of Government from September 5, 2018 to October 27, 2018. He was then succeeded by the now late Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini.
Before being appointed to be the Shiselweni RA in 2018, Mhlanga held the realms of Chief Officer at the King’s office, where he was then succeeded by former Minister of Home Affairs Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze, who is currently the Chief Officer at the King’s Office.
Mhlanga was also once the Managing Director at FINCORP and served in numerous boards in the Kingdom. He held a PhD in Finance.
His former staff member at the King’s office confirmed the demise of Mhlanga. The staff member who elected to comment on the anonymous state said he is aware of the death of Mhlanga and he was deeply saddened by it as he was very close to Mhlanga from way back while Mhlanga was at the King’s office at Nkhanini.
