Mbabane: Finally!
The government of Eswatini through the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development has set aside a total amount of E6.9 million to compensate 162 Malindza residents who were affected during the construction of the KM III international airport and the road leading to the airport.
This was revealed by the Minister of Economic Planning and Development Dr. Thambo Gina at Malindza where he was handing over the report that was compiled by the ministry regarding the residents who were affected. The handover of the report took place on Saturday, at Malindza.
The signing and compensation exercise will begin on Sunday. Minister Dr. Gina said the amount will be shared according to how each of the 162 residents were affected. Dr. Gina thanked the residents for their patience up to this far.
Frank Sibiya, one of the residents said there are very grateful to the government for beginning the compensation process as they have been waiting for it for quite some time.
Johannes Ndzinisa said this is good news to them as residents and they are looking forward into signing and getting the compensation. “I can’t wait for it to be morning so I can append my signature. King Mswati III International Airport was officially opened in Mar-2014, by His Majesty King Mswati III.
