Inside Parly
As soon as the house of Assembly began its business of the day, Ngwemphisi member of Parliament Mthandeni Dube quickly stood up on standing order 58 where he seeked the house to quickly address the situation outside Parliament where people are boycotting. MP Dube asked if the Minister of Finance Neal Rijkenburg can address the House on this issue as it is a burning issue, needs quick attention.
Unfortunately Minister Neal Rijkenburg was not yet in the house by that time. Speaker Petros Mavimbela told the August house that Minister would join the house soon as he was still engaged in the House of senate hence as soon as he finishes that other side he will come to the House of Assembly and address the issue.
However Endzingeni MP Lutfo Dlamini could not accept that easily as he mentioned that the people were just outside and they needed to be attended hence may the Speaker call the Minister.
Hosea MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza asked if proceeding with the business of the day would not paint a wrong image to the people outside that the house continues working regardless of the people who needs the house’s attention.
Eventually the house continued with the order paper as Minister of finance was not around
