Mbabane: Popular Police Officer Princess Ngabisa has passed on due to COVID-19 related disease. She was admitted at Lubombo Referral Hospital on Friday.
Princess Ngabisa was popularly known for featuring in national events, showcasing her traditional dancing skills. The Death of the Princess came as a shock to the public more especially to members of Lutsango as she was a prominent member of Lutsango known for her dancing skills like Kutsamba which is usually done by Lutsango during national events like the Marula festival (Buganu).
National Commissioner of Police William Ntsintsibala Dlamini was reluctant to comment as he was still on his way to report the matter to Acting Ludzidzini Indvuna Lusendvo Fakudze. However, Dlamini confirmed that the Princess is the second Police officer to succumb to COVID-19 as on August 14 Police reported another death of a police officer due to COVID-19.
Princess Ngabisa was the second member of the royal family to die of COVID-19 following Prince Tshekedi who passed on last month.
The death of Princess Ngabisa and Prince Tshekedi came while the royal family was still mourning the death of Prince Phinda who died of long lasting illness.
On Sunday Minister of Health Lizzy Nkosi reported one death and 94 new COVID-19 cases taking the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 3 839. The total number of deaths now stands at 70.
