Mbabane: Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse (SWAGAA) has stood up to strongly condemn the action of a stranger who is reported to have contributed E500 towards the bail money for the police officer, Malangeni Julius Dlamini, who allegedly killed his wife and her Makhwapheni in cold blooded murder last week.
In a statement released by the organization’s Communications Officer, Silindile Nkosi dated June 5, 2020, the organization said the action of the man who made the contribution could only be described as malicious and gruesome.
She said they strongly condemn the support given by the stranger, believing that in as much as the motive of the stranger was not clear; the act of financially supporting the officer promotes and mobilizes gender based violence.
Nkosi appealed to the public to understand that sympathizing with and supporting acts of violence is acting in compliance to the crime or the violent act committed. She said the drive to do the crime cannot be used as an excuse.
Nkosi said the country is in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic as the rest of the world, and should rather redirect efforts and resources to ensuring the health and safety of the people, all to curb the persistent scourge of virus.
Police Information and Communications Officer (PICO), Superintended Phindile Vilakati said as the police they had played their part, which was to effect arrests and now all rested in the court of law.
