Mbabane– It is not raining but pouring for journalist and online publication editor, Swaziland News, Zweli Martin Dlamini who is a repeat offender in a contempt of court case. Magistrate Simo Simelane has issued a warrant of arrest for the editor.
Again, Dlamini has failed to appear before magistrate Simelane to answer for charges relating to threatening to shoot and kill Gedleza Alfred Maseko who is LaMgabhi Etiyeni headman.
The first time, on February 7, 2020 he was fined after failing to show up in court, and was asked to return today (April 16), which he didn’t.
Dlamini is allegedly embroiled in a land dispute with the LaMgabhi Royal Kraal after it was discovered that he appropriated himself and a relative land without the approval of the umphakatsi.
Dlamini was supposedly confronted for unlawfully appropriating land which led to him charging at the headman and threatening to kill him.
COVID-19 breach
Dlamini is also on police wanted list for allegedly breaching Covid-19 regulations, wherein it is alleged he published misleading information on COVID-19 in his online publication. The public has been asked to help in the arrest of Dlamini, with a warning of landing in trouble for anyone purposely concealing his whereabouts. They also advised that the editor turned himself in as despite hiding he would eventually be apprehended.
