Mbabane- In a monumental announcement ealier today, the Ministry of Education and Training have revealed that about 364 temporary teachers will be given permanent jobs.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Public Service Mabulala Maseko during a press conference held at the Ministry of Public Service in Mbabane. Maseko mentioned that a budget of E 65 million has been set aside to accommodate the conversion of the 364 temporal teachers and employment of Early Childhood Care and Development teachers into permanent establishment.
Breaking down the figures, Maseko clarified that, a total of 284 temporal positions have been converted to vacant, and 80 positions have been created to absorb temporary positions into the permanent Eswatini Government Establishment.
Making his remarks, the Honourable Minister said, “I am so elated at this stride as it is a proof that the Ministry of Public Service, the Ministry of Education, and Cabinet are working around the clock in addressing the issue of temporary teachers, as we assure the nation that more is to be achieved.”
On the same note, the Minister of Education and Training, Honourable Owen Nxumalo expressed his gratitude to the government of Eswatini for taking a bold step in absorbing the teachers into permanent establishment. “Indeed our efforts have come into fruition, as we have worked tirelessly to ensure that this becomes a reality,” he said.
