MATSAPHA – His Majesty King Mswati III has retained Phindile Dlamini as Commisioner General at Correctional Services. LaMakhosini, as she is affectionately referred to, got a three-year extension to her tenure. Making the announcement was Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Prince Simelane during a tour of recently erected infrastructure at the Matsapha Correctional facility. ”We would like to congratulate LaMakhosini for being entrusted with the task of leading the Correctional Services for a further three years. We thank His Majesty the king for retaining her in the position,” said the prince. This was before he lauded Dlamini for her contribution towards the improvement of the welfare of inmates kept at correctional facilities. The prince was particularly making reference to additional buildings which have recently completed at the Matsapha facility, which he noted would go a long way towards easing the problem of crowding or congestion. LaMakhosini was initially appointed as the first female Commisioner General by the king in 2019.
