Mbabane: It won’t be long before NERCHA finds a replacement for recently appointed Ministry of Health Principal Secretary Khanya Mabuza in the position of National Executive Director.
NERCHA is an acronym for the National Emergency Response on HIV/AIDS and the government parastatal has been without a permanent National Executive Director (NED) for nearly six months now.
The position of NED in the organisation has been vacant since the departure of Mabuza following his appointment as PS in the Ministry of Health. His appointment was announced by former Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini on August 10, 2023.
Since the exit of Mabuza, NERCHA’s Director of Finance Dumisani Kunene has been keeping the fires burning at the organisation. Even though Kunene’s leadership has been without any complaints at the organisation, those in the know said finding a permanent NED was a priority.
So, it was against such a background that the NERCHA Council took the decision to identify an agency to conduct the search for the new NED. Information reaching this publication was that an independent recruitment consultant, AM Recruitment Services has been tasked with the duty to conduct the recruitment process.
An advert has already been placed in the media for the purpose of attracting the suitable candidate to take the organisation to new heights.
This was further confirmed by the organisation’s Spokesperson Siphesihle Nkwanyana during an interview with the Independent News.
“I am happy to speak to you today following that NERCHA Council has already blessed the recruitment of the new NED by roping in an independent consultant in AM Recruitment Services to lead the recruitment process,” she said.
NERCHA is a government parastatal that was established in 2001 through an Act of Parliament to provide leadership in the coordination and facilitation of the multisectoral response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic and other related matters.
