For the first time accomplice witness watches himself shooting businessman
Mbabane – Accomplice witness Mbuso ‘Ncaza’ Nkosi was made to watch footage where he shot in businessman and football administrator Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze in cold blood at the Ezulwini Galp Filling Station on January 14, 2018 at exactly 6:54pm.
This was in the High Court on the second day of his appearance when Nkosi was giving his evidence-in-chief before Judge Nkosinathi Maseko. Earlier, the South African national had to give evidence while he was made to watch a video footage of the Ezulwini Spar, where he had gone to purchase food. He was in the company of the other accomplice witness Siphiwe ‘Tata’ Ngubane and Sandile ‘Dzodzo’ Zikalala/Luthango who is still wanted by the police in connection to the crime.
Before the incident at the Galp Filling Station could be replayed for Nkosi, State Advocate Michael Hellens warned the accomplice witness that he (Hellens) was aware that on the first day of giving his evidence, Nkosi was traumatised when he had to narrate how he allegedly murdered Gamedze. The legal practitioner said Nkosi would have to bear with him but he had no other alternative but to go through the footage with him so that he could confirm occurrence of certain events in relation to the crime.
Unlike the previous day, Nkosi, who had been under heavy guard from both local and South African law enforcement, managed to narrate on the events of the day and appeared to be composed this time around.
ON the previous day, Nkosi made startling revelations when he informed the court that ‘Dzodzo’ told him that four other people, who were dangerous, were involved in the plan to murder the businessman and football administrator. The names of the four people mentioned by ‘Dzodzo’ were Sthofen, Mike, Mamba and Zakes.
Last year, Siphiwe ‘Tata’ Ngubane told the court that while Nkosi and ‘Dzodzo’ had gone out, leaving him alone at the guest house in which they were lodged in Mbabane, four well-built and well-dressed men arrived and told him that the job had to be done without delay. Ngubane said he was not aware of the identities of the men as he had seen them for the first time. He also said he did not ask them any questions because he was not sure about their identities since it was possible that they might be police officers. Nkosi submitted that the quartet was allegedly financing Solani’s Shisanyama and they were dangerous.
‘Dzodzo’ allegedly proceeded to tell Nkosi that he and Ngubane were supposed to be killed after the murder of Gamedze. Nkosi alleged that he had also discovered that he had to be killed as well. Nkosi was narrating how they got away after he had shot Gamedze. The witness said from the crime scene, he and ‘Dzodzo’ drove to a college in Manzini where there was the latter’s girlfriend. He said they left ‘Dzodzo’s car and travelled to Mbabane using public transport. He submitted that before they reached the guest house in Mbabane, they saw Ngubane, whom they had left in Ezulwini, and proceeded to the guest house together.
