Mbabane – Local artists are taking Eswatini music with a storm. ‘Sybriz’, real name Siyabonga Shongwe is among young talented and upcoming musicians that are emerging and taking the local music industry by storm.
From humble beginnings in the remote parts of the kingdom, the house and amapiano artist has managed to collaborate with the likes of Mr Kangaroo, born Malibongwe Manana.
Mr Kangaroo, is a comedian, rapper from the Kingdom of Eswatini. He was born in Manzini but raised in Barberton, South Africa by his father and stepmother. He came back home in 2012 and now lives in Ngwane Park. He fell in love with music when he was 13 years old and his favourite artist at the time was Pitch Black Afro.
“My stage name is Sybriz and live at Mdumezulu. I started playing music 2018 and I was doing trap and afro pop music with my brother P-flozzy. We started house and amapiano music and we had great moves on that. We even got airplay on Halla Radio where they played our first house hit Ziyawa namhlanje produced by Plasta music and Mr kangaroo,” revealed Sybriz in an exclusive interview with Independent News.
