Mbabane: Illa Penboy has bounced back as MTN brand ambassador for the year 2020
This was revealed by MTN Chief Marketing Officer Sylvia Otuo-Acheampong when officially announcing four brand ambassadors for Eswatini MTN for the year 2020.
The event was held at MTN Eswatini Headquarters Ezulwini, and was graced by the presence of Eswatini MTN acting CEO, and other top Management.
Otuo-Acheampong said the journey of having brand ambassadors started about three years ago. She said most of the brand ambassadors they had contracts with them expired last year. The four brand ambassadors are Illa Penboy, Nsika Mazibuko, Nompendulo Sibandze, Madoda Sibandze. Illa Penboy is bouncing back as MTN brand ambassador after serving as an ambassador for the previous two years. “Illa Penboy has now been an ambassador for two year now” she said.
Joining him is the MTN Spotlight winner Nsika Mazibuko, and the two runners up in the spotlight competition, Nompendulo Sibandze and Madoda Sibandze. Otuo-Acheampong said this year through the focus of the brand, the brand was trying to position itself as a youthful brand. She said the brand has shifted into a youth focus brand. The brand she said wants to connect to the youth and that was the reason it is changing the face of the ambassadors.
Otuo-Acheampong said the MTN Pulse that was launched last year is more like a community of young people giving them what they want and what they prefer MTN Eswatini to do for them.
MTN started the MTN Pulse which is more dominated by young people and later the MTN spotlight which spotlight which is more on uncovering the talent of young people in music.
