Master KG and Nomcebo Zikode’s Jerusalema is now officially a global hit. The smash hit Jerusalema has received the thumbs up globally. It has also secured the spot as the fourth most searched song on the app Shazam the world over and both artists were officially appointed as the ambassadors of the world.
This comes after a video of a group of people in Romania dancing to it went viral on social media recently.
Since then the mega hit has seen people in Italy, Switzerland, Germany and France getting down in more viral videos.
The Jerusalema song has reached another milestone 50 million mark on YouTube, making the house maestro from Bolobedu in Ga-Modjadji, Limpopo, one of a few South African artists to claim this feat.
Popular producer and artist Master KG, real name Kgaogelo Moagi (24), said in a virtual press briefing he was very excited and honoured by the support he has received both from at home and globally
Nomcebo Zikode said that Jerusalema was a big break for her especially after she had tried for many years to make a mark for herself in the music industry.
The 26-year-old songstress and songwriter from Hammarsdale in KwaZulu-Natal, said she thank God for the opportunity. “When I wrote these lyrics, I was not at peace with myself. I was pleading to God to take me through a beautiful and peaceful place,” said the excited Zikode.
“When we recorded this song on August 29 last year with Nomcebo, we never thought it would go this far.”
