Mbabane: In a historic moment for Eswatini, Minister of health Lizzie Nkosi led the way by taking her first AstraZeneca shots on Wednesday morning.
The Minister was with a group of ten (10) senior health workers and World Health Organized (WHO) representatives when they took their first jabs of the controversial AstraZeneca vaccine.
The minister took her shot after the country received a total of 32 000 doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine a week ago.
The AstraZeneca vaccine has been an international issue as most European countries including Denmark, Ireland and many more countries halted the use of the vaccine in fear of blood clots.
However, WHO and the company producing the vaccine has backed the vaccine saying it is safe to be used as the advantages were overweighing the side effects.
