Mbabane: Eswatini’s recovery rate on Saturday edged up to 95.4 percent with 5 652 people recuperated so far.
Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi said only eight (8) new cases were picked over the past day. Interestingly, the fewer cases were recorded from a total of 423 tests results, which indicates a decline in the number of cases recorded in the Kingdom.
The number of active cases in the country has decreased to 148.
The new cases pushes the total number of known infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country to 5 925.
The total number of fatalities still stands at 117.
Nevertheless, the minister urged the nation to continue observing all COVID-19 regulations regardless of the fact that the curve have shown signs of flattening. Nkosi said until a definitive treatment or vaccine for COVID-19 has been found, another exponential increase in number of cases is still possible if prevention measures are abandoned by the public.
“Our goal as a nation is to continue to halt the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the deaths associated with it.”
Meanwhile, the world at large has confirmed over 46,200,632 cases with more than 33,396,494 people recuperated so far. The total number of fatalities recorded globally stands above 1,197,722.
